Nate and I had a special announcement to tell the kids on my birthday this year.
I didn't get any pictures because we were video recording. But in the morning, before Spencer and Preston left for school I had a gift bag sitting on the counter and I told them there was a surprise inside for them that they could open when they got home from school. So as soon as they got home, we took them into the family room and told them they could each take out an item and guess what it was for. Lauryn pulled a baby bottle out of the bag. Then Spencer pulled out a new stocking. And Preston pulled out a new stocking hanger.
They didn't catch on right away so we coaxed them a little and Spencer finally said, "There's a baby in Mommy's tummy??"
It was really cute. They were really surprised. When I asked them if they wanted a brother or a sister, Spencer and Preston almost unanimously said "A Sister!". Lauryn said she wants a baby brother. We are really excited and will be welcoming our new arrival in June. Happy Birthday to me!
