Today was the big day. We found out if we are having a new baby brother or a new baby sister!
Nate and I went to the Dr. appointment/ultrasound. Then we came home (where Grandma Martin was watching the kids) with a bag full of pink and blue Jelly Bellys.
I told the kids to count all the pink Jelly Bellys and all the blue Jelly Bellys and figure out which one has more. If there were more blue, they would know it's a boy. If there were more pink, it's a girl. The kids were really excited and got down to business right away. Preston, being our little Preston, immediately got out a paper and a pencil to track the numbers. Spencer did most of the counting. (Lauryn does generally wear pants/skirt:)
The numbers look close....
And the final count.....
Blue/Boy: 51 Jelly Bellys.
Pink/Girl: 50 Jelly Bellys.
A baby brother it is!!!
Lauryn has said it was a baby brother from the beginning. Spencer and Preston both really wanted another sister, so it was a bit of a surprise to them. Nate and I were pretty surprised as well to find out we were going to have ANOTHER boy. Spencer was over it as soon as he heard we were having a boy. Preston....is having a harder time with it. He was really set on another sister. In a week or two, once he gets used to the idea, he'll be thrilled to have a new brother. As surprising as the new was, we are really excited to welcome a new baby boy to our family. And even more thrilled that he is healthy and that everything with this pregnancy is going so well. Come on June!
