Spencer and I were driving home from the Doctor one day and it was just he and I in the car (a rare occasion these days). We had been in Salt Lake and we drove by the temple and we were talking about how that is the temple that me and daddy got married in. Spencer started asking why my last name wasn't Martin anymore. I explained that when I married Daddy, I changed my last name to Monson so that we could have the same last name because we are in the same family now. I told him that when he gets married, his wife can change her name so she has the same last name as him.
He said, "So when Mackenzie and I get married, she will be Mackenzie Monson." And I said, "Yes if you decide to marry Mackenzie, that is true. But you don't need to decide who you are going to marry yet. You have a long time until you will be ready to get married. And when you get older, you might not like Mackenzie anymore and that's okay."
He said, "But I want to marry Mackenzie."
I said, "That's great. But just because you want to marry Mackenzie, doesn't mean she wants to marry you. And the girl you want to marry, has to want to marry you. You both have to decide that you want to marry each other."
He said, "I know. I know Mackenzie wants to marry me. I already asked her, and she said yes."

What is it about this age that has them so interested in marriage? Olivia was distrot that she didn't have someone she could say would be her husband one day. I kept telling her it was fine. She has a LONG time until she has to worry about it. that didn't matter. She still needed someone. So, Brett and Sarah, I hope you like her because she is determined that Ky and she will be wed one day. ;)
