Check one off my bucket list...

I am not an athletic person. I work out as much as I can and I like to push myself, but I am not "gifted" with the ability to be a good athlete. I suck at ALL sports (but I can kick butt on the Wii). I am not coordinated. I have short legs and a short torso. I was just not build to be a jock. However, I have always wanted to run a race and maybe be a decent runner. (I'm not talking Marathons here; I do have a grasp on reality:)

So this year one of my New Years Resolutions was to run a 5k. I know this sounds PATHETIC to all you runners out there, but it was a good challenge for me. I hated running the mile in school and I have never run "For the fun of it." So I heard about this 5k/charity, Running With Angels and I told myself, this is it! So I registered, trained as best as I could with the short time till the race, drove myself down to Thanksgiving Point at 6:30AM and ran it all by myself! (Nate would have run it with me but he had school.)

I finished at 36:45 which is fine for my first race. But the point is...I did it. Now I have a time to beat for my next race...

Way to go. That is awesome. If you ever want to run a race with someone sometime let me know.

That is a WONDERFUL thing. Both the running (I have NEVER run "for fun" either) and the cause (I noticed the sweet tribute to your baby girl on your sidebar).

That is awesome! I am with you in the uncoordinated and non-sporty category. Ugh! Although I'm sure you are even more coordinated than I am. Running a 5k is a great accomplishment and I think you will be hooked and surprise yourself with that marathon in the future. Why not?

Beth! You rock girl! Way to go! And that time is awesome. I think that's a really special reason to run.

I also enjoyed the ear infection drama. It's sad and a little bit funny at the same time. :)

Even though Spencer is writing threats on the white board, I'm very impressed with his spelling and handwriting.

Could this comment get any longer? See you in a week and a half!
