The traditional birthday breakfast... he requested green banana pancakes with green milk and a green straw.
His ssssssnake cake (it's a green Garter snake... Spencer's favorite kind of snake).
Cousin Jaimee admiring the birthday boy...
Spencer's snake head piece of cake... (it was the most delicious snake cake I've ever had).
The favorite part of the day... tearing into those presents!!!
We love having Spencer in our family. He is SUCH a big helper with Lauryn. He adores her to pieces and will hold her for 20 minutes at a time. He is a great big-brother to Preston. He is fascinated with how this Earth was put together and wants to investigate how everything works. We love Spencer for his thirst for knowledge, his quiet demeanor, and how loving he is. And we love how much he LOVES animals, nature, and the Earth. He is our future Zoologist and he loves all living things. Happy Birthday Spence!!!

I can't even talk about how spectacular that cake is. You never mention who makes the fancy cakes at your house so I can only assume it was you! Great job. I can't begin to imagine how one creates a snake cake. I love what a cute kid Spencer is. And I agree with your reasons for not buying a snake. Seriously, live crickets. How often, I wonder? That is tough to add to your list of to-do's for sure. You sure got in a lot of posts since the last time I checked your blog. Thanks for all the entertainment - not that your goal is to entertain but you sure did.
Again, your cake skills leave me speechless...
I love the cake. It sounds as if Spencer had a great birthday!
