Yesterday was Preston's 4th Birthday!! And it was jam-packed with Lightning McQueen. Preston had seen the Lightning McQueen bike at the store a few times and he had been asking for that for his birthday for a while. But in the days leading up to his birthday, all he was requesting was a Lightning McQueen cake (no pressure Mom!). I had already been planning on making a Lightning McQueen cake, but I was nervous that he was banking his whole birthday on that.
He got to "open" his bike when he woke up. He rode it around the kitchen and said, "This bike is perfect for me!"
Then, as tradition, we let him choose whatever he wanted for breakfast (pancakes, french toast, crepes) and he chose... cupcakes! So that's what he had. Then we headed off to the boys' soccer games (see post below) and then took Preston to lunch. He requested the "pizza store" for lunch so we took him to Robintinos. He filled up on ranch dressing and cheese pizza. And the nice waitresses even brought him a dish of ice-cream with a candle and sang him Happy Birthday. He was grinning from ear to ear.
We ended the day with a party complete with a Lightning McQueen cake, Lightning McQueen plates, cups, and napkins... per Preston's request.
All throughout the day he kept saying, "This is the best Birthday I've ever seen!" It doesn't get much better than that. I think he enjoyed his big day.
Happy Birthday Bud!

Happy Birthday Preston! Beth, you rock at making birthdays extra special!
P.S.- Beth, I didn't even mention how awesome the cake turned out, but that just goes without saying!
What an amazing cake! You did such a great job! Sounds like Preston had a great time. Who wouldn't with cupcakes for breakfast and pizza for lunch!
The cake is awesome!! But, like Bri said, that goes without saying. I told Owen on Sunday that Prestons birthday was the day before. He got really big eyes and said, "Now he's 4, like me!"
Preston's got to be the Happiest Birthday boy I've ever seen.
