My Big 1st Grader!

Here is Spencer on the first day of school.
Look how BIG he is!
Preston had his Kindergarten orientation today so he needed to pose for a picture also.
And I had to document the first of MANY school lunches I will make over the next several years.

(grapes, cheese sandwich cut into dinosaurs, chips, capri sun, and a treat. And I think it's still cool in 1st grade for your mom to put a mushy note on your napkin:)

I took Spencer to school on the first day.  Here he is waiting to go inside with his class.
And here he is coming home off the bus.
Cooling off with an afternoon snack.
He said it was a good first day.  When he got home I asked him how school was.  He said, "Good."  Then I asked him what he did at school all day and he said, "Nothing."  And I said, "You didn't do anything at school?"  He said, "Nope. Well I did color a little."  Then I said, "So you had a good say?"  And he said, "Mom - I already told you I had a good day." - Alrighty then.

Spencer and Preston are both in the French Immersion program at their school and we are excited for them to learn French. So because he is in the immersion program, Spencer has two teachers this year.  He'll spend half of the day in a traditional class with Mrs. Smith, and then the other half of the day will be with Mademoiselle Smith in French (a different teacher, same last name).  We're hoping for a great year and so far we are off to a great start!

I think first grade does suddenly make them seem bigger, doesn't it! Sounds like he survived good, even having done "nothing"! :)

I love his lunch and was wondering if you could make one for me too... I don't mind the note either. ;)

I feel your pain on the whole boys-not-talking subject! I've started telling Hunter he has to tell me 3 things about his day before he can have his snack. (I don't care if it's mean!) And, I think it's great that you're adjusting well- stalker moms are definitely not normal ;)

Wow, I can't believe he is in FIRST grade! What a cute little dude he is (Preston too). I love that he said he did, "nothing" at school all day. Come on Beth, I'm a teacher-that is what we do all day (if it's Saturday). :)

Oh, he's to cool to talk about his day! That is so mature of him. :)
(I'm totally blogging and counting down the minutes until I can go pick Owen up today.) I can't wait to hear what he has to say about kindergarten!
