Then Friday night my friends took me out. We went to Roosters for dinner. Then we went and saw Everbody's Fine. It was a really good movie, but not what we were expecting. It was depressing and we all left feeling a little down. But it was still fun. So then we went out for dessert and that lifted our spirits. Then we stayed up and talked till the wee morning hours. It was a perfect way to ring in my Birthday (Thanks ladies:).
On Saturday, Nate and the boys made me french toast, sausage, and REAL orange juice for breakfast. It was delicious. I opened my presents and we hung out and played around the house most of the day and then went out to dinner. I still hadn't gotten enough Chinese food for the weekend and I really wanted PF Changs but I didn't think fighting the downtown crowd the Saturday before Christmas would be worth it... so I requested Pei Wei instead. So we get there, and as soon as we get to the front door, one of the nice workers informed us that the hot water heaters weren't working and they were closed for the evening (disappointment again). But... they did give us 2 free coupons for LETTUCE WRAPS so that made it worth it! So... I again had to make a snap decision on where my second choice was... so we went to Wingers. After dinner we had planned to go to Temple Square but it was just too late. The boys were tired so we didn't think it would be worth the fight. So we came home and put the boys to bed and Nate and I watched a movie. It was very relaxing.
Now about the gifts, I got lots of great things but here are a couple of the highlights. This is what my friend Irene gave me:
It may not look familiar to some of you, but to the rest of you... one word...FH'zzookie!!! They are fhzzookie pans like at Firehouse. FHzzookie night at our house!!!
And then... this is what Nate got me:
Yes, a new camcorder. Our old one has been broken for a year and a half and I have HATED not being able to record my boys. We record a little here and there on the digital camera but it's just not the same. And I have really wanted a new one but they are so expensive. But Nate totally surprised me and got me one. I love it. And one of the reasons I love it so much is because having a birthday the same week as Christmas is not easy. I get short changed every year and when I was growing up, if there was a large gift I really wanted for my birthday, I never got it for my birthday, I had to wait and get it for Christmas. So my birthday was usually pretty mellow, because all the hype had to be saved up for Christmas. My parents tried really hard, but that's just the way it was. So I have NEVER gotten a gift like this for my birthday. I was shocked and so excited when I opened the camcorder.
So all in all, this was an exceptional birthday! And one of the best parts was, NONE of my birthday gifts were wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper! It was REAL birthday paper! So thank you to everyone for such a great birthday, and for so many nice gifts. And most of all... thanks for remembering me even though my Birthday falls at a really hectic time!!! I so appreciate your efforts!
*A side note: Future parents out there - Please use birth control during the month of March. Your children will thank you later:)

Happy belated birthday Beth! It sounds like you had a great time.
I totally understand the whole birthday thing being too close to Christmas. Mine is on the 7th of December. But my family and Todd have been really good about it and try to even things up and actually uses birthday paper too!
I'm so glad you had a great birthday. And what a great gift--a camcorder! Also, can't wait for Fazookies!!
Ha! The last part made me laugh and I totally know how you feel! December birthdays are the pits. And to top my bad luck off, my Anniversary is this month too. Total bummer.
And when are you doing the FHZookies? You know those are my fave!
Happy Birthday! A camcorder is a pretty awesome present. I better start seeing some videos on your blog soon!
I agree about March, but everyone may want to stay away from April for the most part too... you know for those early babes.
P.S.- I'm so glad you had a great b-day and that Nate took such good care of you. So glad you were born!
