Last Day of School Part 2...

Preston just finished kindergarten!  He LOVED it!  He is also in a French immersion program and he enjoys it.  Now it's bragging time for my hard worker:

Preston achieved straight A's throughout the entire year.

He read 5,257 minutes during the school year (almost all of those minutes he was reading to me or himself, he was not being read to).

Preston took the dibels test at the end of the year and scored as follows:

Letter Naming Fluency: 65 (benchmark for kindergarten is 40)
Phoneme Segmentation: 80 (benchmark is 40)
Nonsense Word Fluency/Letter sounds: 121 (benchmark is 28)

Preston said his favorite subject is math.

One of Preston's biggest achievements this year is that he got 100% attendance!

Preston had a wonderful teacher, Madame Taylor.  She often complimented Preston on all his achievements but she was most impressed by his penmanship.  Preston's penmanship is beautiful.  He writes at a much higher level than kindergarten.

Preston had a kindergarten graduation on the last day of school and it was darling.
Second row from bottom, second child in from right.
Preston with Madame Taylor.  He loved her!
Preston with Sophia (he likes her as a good friend, but SHE claims he is her boyfriend:)
Preston with his best friends from our neighborhood who were in his class.

Jack, Ryan, Preston & Gavin.

Preston is SO excited to start first grade.  He has been asking how many more days until first grade since the last day of kindergarten.

Preston also played a full season of soccer during school, and took swimming lessons.  He also had A LOT of play dates to keep up with.

We love Preston's enthusiasm, and heart-warming compliments that he never ceases to offer those around him.  He is a WONDERFUL helper at home and we love him to pieces. Lauryn will be lost without him when school starts:')

We are so proud of Preston and how hard he tries to excel in school. He is a perfectionist and we are trying to help him to be more patient with himself and understand that he doesn't need to be perfect at everything.

First grade, here he comes!
