What month is it again?

I know this is long past due, but it needs to make the blog book so here it is...

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Monson's for Thanksgiving this year.  Chris and Lisa's family was able to join us and it was the first time we have ever all been together on Thanksgiving!  It was crowded - but good crowded.
Here are the annual Thanksgiving turkeys we made for Family Night the Monday before Thanksgiving:

Spencer's

Preston's

and Lauryn's...:)

This is Lauryn's first taste of pumpkin pie and she LOVED it!
and more pie...
and maybe just a little bit more...

The next morning we headed off to Vernal.  The boys had been counting down for weeks and they were so excited to go.  They watched Christmas movies and we listened to Christmas songs the whole way there.

We spent Friday night in the hotel and headed up the mountain Saturday morning.  There wasn't a lot of snow on the roads but the temperature was in the low 20s so the roads were a little slick.  Once we were saddled up and starting hiking through the snow, it was pretty deep but at least the sun was shining and the sky was clear.

Lauryn liked playing on Uncle Doug's trailer because she didn't have to worry about tripping through the snow in her boots.

We found the winner!
Nate pulling the boys on a sled with the 4-wheeler
Snow bunnies!
We had sausage dip, chili, hot chocolate and roasted hot dogs.
It was really cold so he hung pretty close to the fire.
Nate taking Preston for one last ride (while pulling Spencer behind)...

Lauryn and Preston on the sled
(lasted for about 3 seconds before Lauryn started screaming).

After we got home, Nate put the tree up and we decorated it the next day.
The boys did a lot better with not "clustering" the ornaments quite so much this year.

The final product
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Next up...gingerbread creations. This year I decided to forgo the gingerbread house because we end up throwing the whole thing away because none of it's really edible (at least it doesn't taste edible). So we made gingerbread people this year so the kids could decorate them and then eat them. We made one big one first, and then the kids each got a smaller one to decorate and eat.
We had a lot of frosting and I got a little carried away...
The boys were pretty good sports!
Something's missing...
The final touch!
HO HO HO Merry Christmas!
