On Saturday we had our annual pumpkin carving party at Uncle Doug's house. We had homemade root beer and donuts, sausage dip, and chili. And we roasted hot dogs over the fire. Then we got to carving!

My Mom used to make this for us when I was little. It's a casserole made with rice and ground beef that you cook inside a pumpkin. Yum!
We had a great Halloween but I am ready to move onto November! We ended up with a total of:
2 family parties
1 work party
2 friend parties
2 school classroom parties
and way TOO much candy!
The boys seem to have more and more fun with Halloween every year which makes it even more fun for me. And as long as Lauryn is doing whatever her big brothers are doing, she's thrilled.

After this year I'm a BIG fan of group carving in a cement floor garage! Your lineup of carved pumpkins is VERY impressive!

I love the line up of pumpkins - wowee! What a productive group. Your kids were cute. What a lot of partying - and you are just getting started with the holidays... yikes.

This is the 2nd "dinner in a pumpkin" I have heard of, but up and til this year I had never heard of such things. Now I leave you with the challenge to figure out a clever meal in something Christmasy... I know you're up for it.
P.S.- All the kids' costumes look great, and my personal favorite is Lauryn's. Even my Nate couldn't get over how cute she is!
