Baby Animal Day

We weren't able to go to Baby Animal Day last year because Nate was just getting ready to have his surgery and he couldn't walk. So my boys have been begging to go for a long time. I was really hoping to go on Saturday but I knew the weather wasn't going to be "great". But we decided to take a chance on what was "supposed" to be a mostly sunny day and go.

We started off on a good note. It was cold-but we were prepared for that.

Waiting in line for pony rides (the boys favorite part).

Spencer was on "Badger" and he rode all by himself this time.

Preston still needed a little assistance.

Holding the cute little bunnies while the rain starts to sprinkle...

The sprinkles then turned to rain....

And that's it as far as pictures go. It was pouring by this point and we were freezing. Lauryn and I made it to see baby turtles and some adorable calves in the barn and then we sludged through mud up to our knees (along with the stroller:) back to the car (along with the camera) while Nate and the boys pressed on in the downpour. I am told...they held baby goats, lambs, chicks, duckings, and piglets. They still had a lot of fun and I guess it was worth the hour drive. Of course as soon as we drove back South through the canyon we were greeted with a 20 degree spike in the temperature and clear and sunny skies.

I think we are all so sick of the rain that I don't need to express how disappointing that part was...

Oh the things we do for the children! It never ceases to amaze me... at least they got to go this year, and here's to a better Spring next year for the Baby Animals!

You are so nice to even attempt that! I would have looked at the weather and said no way. Just proves that you are an awesome mom.

Sometimes the weather rules an event. I'm glad you were able to see some of the cuteness still. And I'm glad you are all healthy and well, and able to get around to enjoy baby animal day together. I'm sure the kids still enjoyed the time and have great memories of it.
