Yesterday we had our annual Walk to Remember for Addy. And then afterward, we decided to go out to lunch. We debated on where to go and then decided Texas Roadhouse was the winner. So we sat down and received our "first" basket of rolls (those of you who have been there know what I'm talking about). So Nate and I each fixed the boys a roll with lots of raspberry honey butter and handed the boys their rolls and neither one of them wanted one! We just thought maybe they needed a minute to color on their menus with the crayons and then they would come around. So Nate and I promptly finished our rolls and then asked the waitress for some more. Before we knew it, our food was ready. We got the boys the chicken critters which are more like slabs of chicken deep fried in goodness along with a pile of delicious fries. And as soon and we fixed Preston's plate for him, he says, "I don't want any lunch." Nate and I looked at each other in awe. We, again, thought he would change his mind momentarily. But he didn't. He just sat there and colored as went through baskets of rolls and plates of delicious food. At one point, Preston decided he wanted to come over and sit by me. So on his way over, he noticed that Nate had a side of broccoli (who orders a side of broccoli?). As soon as Preston saw the broccoli, he asked Nate if he could have a taste. Nate was surprised, but agreed. So Preston sat down and ate the rest of Nate's broccoli! When he was done with the broccoli, we asked if he wanted anything else and he said, "No thanks. I'm all done." What? We take him to Texas Roadhouse and all he wants is steamed broccoli? All he will eat at home is Macaroni and Cheese, chicken nuggets, or pizza. So I order him some fabulous chicken nuggets... and all he wants is broccoli? I give up! I guess I should just be grateful he likes broccoli. Whatever...

Strange isn't it? At least he eats...

I hate ordering food for my kids, because I never know if they will eat it or not... it's the ultimate money gamble.
That is great! I wish my kids would even look at broccoli! And those TR rolls are so dang good.
That is too funny. I think your boys are bewitched or something. Dining out with kids can be so frustrating. Broccoli is my fave! But it still surprises me that those guys didn't want chicken nuggets, fries, or TR rolls with that butter? Something is wrong with those kidos. That is my most favorite place to dine out these days. It is scrumptious!
LOL!! Kids! Go Figure! Hey...I got yer email...and I am not quite sure what you are talking about, my dear. More details??
BTW - LOVED your Autumn post!
