Snow fun...

The other day we took the boys sledding. It was the first time we had gone this Winter and the boys loved it.

It was my idea to go and once we got there, I turned into a paranoid wuss of a mom. I was terrified to send them down the hill the first few times. All I could imagine was them flying off the sled and ending up in pieces at the bottom of the hill. But Nate coaxed me into letting them go. So after I assured them how much I loved them, and said my goodbyes...I let go of their sled...

And they had so much fun and ended up in once piece after all.

There were a few spills...

Lauryn wanted to stay nice and snuggy in the car most of the time...

And we had a hot chocolate tail-gate party to warm up after we were all sledded out.

Mmmmm...

Good times!

Spencer got some "ice rash"? But he didn't mind.

The next day Spencer was telling Grandma Martin about our sledding. He said, "Grandma, the ice scratched my face. And there was A LOT of blood!"

I swore this would be the year we officially take the girls sledding, and now I am not sure if it will happen. I am like you... super PARANOID! I am not sure I have the courage to pull the trigger on this one solo... we will see.

That looks fun. I had a dream about Lauryn the other night. She was super cute in it and like 2 years old. Hopefully I can actually meet her this summer. Until then, I can dream can't I....

That looks so fun! I am a total wimp about the cold lately so I haven't played in the snow at all this year. Twice I sent Scott out to play with Kate, I just took pictures and went back in my warm house. I'm not as worried about Kate injuring herself as much as being cold. (Is that horrible of me? Yes, I know!) But the place you went looks steeper than our little hill, so your paranoia is within reason. The tailgate moment with hot chocolate looks nice. That would be my favorite moment. I would be happy to have a Lauryn as my excuse to stay in the warmth. I love hearing kids tell people, like grandparents, about their experiences. Like how Spencer told about his "ice rash" that's fun.

Poor Spencer! HMM...I seem to remember having a picture that is very similar to that one of him. :) I even think it's the same cheek.
